![]() ![]() HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
Phil Clapick has been hosting Exchange Students for 25 years. Many of them have attended Canoga where they have added much to the culture of our campus. Next year, Phil will be hosting more students, but he needs your help. Phil is looking for Host Families to accommodate four additional Exchange Students during the September 2009 - June 2010 school year. The teenagers are Markus from Sweden, Vojta from the Czech Republic, Sabena from Germany, and Steffanie from Germany. According to Phil, “All of them are 16, and because I know their families in Europe, I can assure you they are especially wonderful young people.” The hosts can be the typical family, or a single-parent family, or a single adult, or a retired couple. The students come here with full spending money and medical insurance. The Host Families provide room and board on a voluntary basis, but they do get an IRS tax deduction for doing so. Phil speaks highly of these four students (as well as all the others he has hosted over the years), and believes their eventual Host Families will be very happy they got involved with the program. “I have been associated with the program for so long as a volunteer, because these teenagers are extraordinary: one need only ask the Canoga teachers who've had them in their classes.” If you are interested in becoming a Host Family to one or more of these students, please contact Phil Clapick at (818)348-0530. He is looking forward to hearing from you, and introducing you to a very meaningful and worthy experience!
