Principal's Message

July 2016

Welcome to Canoga Park High School!

I am proud to serve in my second year as principal at this historic school, and I embrace the school’s motto - “Be Strong” – in the classroom, in the community, and in life. I am also a CPHS parent!

We offer a personalized education where students have the opportunity to excel academically while receiving a well-rounded high school experience.

We are very excited to offer CPHS students a tremendous opportunity - 25 FULL scholarships to Cal State Northridge!

Canoga Park High School is the only LAUSD school to have this kind of agreement with a major university and your child is eligible simply by attending CPHS.

The good news keeps on rolling as we accomplished much this past year:

  •  - Earned a full 6 year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  •  - Issued laptops to every student for them to use for the school year as part of our One-to-One Technology Initiative.
  •  - Increased SBAC scores by 32 points in English Language Arts and 16 points in mathematics.
  •  - Launched a $5 million Digital Media & Video Production Complex.
  •  - Established a College & Career Center with a full time Counselor.
  •  - Repaired the dormant Pipe Organ in the Assembly Hall.
  •  - Announced the school’s new focus - “Canoga. College. Career.”
  •  - Students designed and built a chicken coop on our very own Farm (eggs anyone?).
  •  - Won a fourth straight Boys Soccer City Championship, with one of our Hunters being named Daily News Player of the Year.
  •  - Won our first City Title in Girls Cross Country, with one of our Hunters winning the Girls Cross Country Individual Title.

As an educator, my mantra has always been “If a school isn’t good enough for my own child, then it’s not fit for anyone’s child.” With that in mind, I’m proud to say that my son is a Canoga Park High School Senior!

Can you smell what the Hunters are cookin’?
