Communication, Arts and Media Magnet

The 2017-18 school year is introducing newly redesigned magnet programs at CPHS; Communication, Arts & Media (CAM) and Engineering, Environmental & Veterinary Sciences (EEVS).

The centerpiece of CAM Magnet is the new $5 million BAIT studio complex and its dazzling array of state-of-the-art equipment. The CAM program will offer students a choice of pathways to prepare for college and careers in such diverse fields as photography, video production, computer programming, and graphic arts. CAM is replacing the current World Languages, International Business & Trade magnet.

Our interdisciplinary and project-based learning model offers CAM Magnet students a pathway of sequential courses:

  • Intro to New Media
  • Photography 1
  • Video Production 1 - Delivering the Message
  • Video Production 2 - Refining the Message
If you are interested in careers in
Video Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production
Photo/Video/Broadcast Journalism
Film Writing and Sound Design

CAM Magnet offers you the hands-on experience with industry-standard technology to achieve your goals.
Collaboration with the BAIT Academy (Building Assets through Integrated Technology) gives CAM students access to arts-oriented field trips, internships and externships, artist-in-residency programs, and specialized workshops with industry professionals.
